Initial steps - First partners meeting, Brussels, 14-15 October 2005
The project started with a first partners meeting, which took place on 14-15 October 2005 in Brussels. The objective of this meeting was to present the project partners with the context of the project, the work programme, and the expected outcomes. The project partners exchanged information on their current activities and visions for the project. The following strategies and actions were discussed and decided:
-
to analyse the National Action Plans on Social Inclusion (NAPs/Inclusion) with regard to references made to the social exclusion of people with mental health problems;
-
to bring together various stakeholders in the fields of health and social services, employment, education and training services, housing, transport, leisure activities, civil and human rights etc., in order to analyse the situation of social exclusion of people with mental health problems and to discuss the process of identifying good practices;
-
to develop criteria for good practices such as efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, transferability to and added value for local communities, other countries as well as for the European level;
-
to establish a European Advisory Committee, which will provide support to the project from their specific point of view as well as contact persons for each of the partner countries.
